Saturday, August 2, 1896
Florence is six months old tomorrow. She weighed 19 lbs. this morn. Grandpa and Grandma went to Springfield this morn. Matties and the younger children’s pictures came yesterday. Grandpa came home tonight. Edwards boy arrived this morn about 6 o’c – weighed 10 ½ lbs.
Prescott’s eye is getting better. He was hit while playing base-ball at the picnic down to Mr. Sam’l Clarks.
S.S. picnic last Thurs. Everyone except Prescott came home rejoicing.
He did not come up home that night. He slept on the lounge down to mothers.

Very rainy. Prescott and Mattie went to church. Cleared off before eve. M. stayed down to the 4 o’c meeting
Wednesday, August 26, 1896
Mattie and Henry picked 10 qts. black-berries this P.M.
Prescott and Papa went to meeting this evening.
Thursday, August 27, 1896
Mother, Father and Emma came up this P.M. They stayed to supper.
Friday, August 28, 1896
Very beautiful day. Florence and I rode over to Mr. Dickinson’s in Whately. They live on a hill there is a fine view from their place. We went with Frank and Grandpa. Susie rode with us up to see Ethel Nash. I intended to call on Mrs. Hiram Graves but she and Marion were over visiting Mr. Oliver Nash and Ellen.

Very pleasant. 200 bls. were brought at one time today – 1,2 horse-load 2- 1 horse load.
Sunday, August 30, 1896
A very beautiful day. Mattie took care of Florence for me to go to ch. Mr. Snyder had an excellent sermon. Romans 6.11. “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Susie stayed to Grandma Tilton’s till evening. Emma came home to stay a few days.
Mr. Sanderson and wife called this eve.
Mother has heard from Springfield.
Edw’s boy is named William Snow.
