Wednesday, October 3, 1894

Emma went to Northampton to attend Bertha Clark’s wedding.

Mattie commenced work at Mrs. Hawks’s yesterday morn Oct. 2”. She is to come home Sat. nights to stay over Sunday. Emma Hawks boards at home and works in the Forbes’s Library in Northampton. Addie H. is attending school in the Westfield Normal.

Grandpa went down with Emma on the electrics at 2 o’c. She is to come up tomorrow morning to go into school.

Saturday, October 20, 1894

Warm and pleasant. I went to Northampton this P.M. to get my new teeth. I went in last Thurs. to have the impression taken. Found Eliza Howland on the car when I started to come home. I stopped in Florence to get an Easter lily for Grandma then came out to mothers and had a little visit with Eliza before I came home. Mattie came home tonight when we did.

Mother has been to the W.C.T.U. Conv. in Fitchburg came home Fri. eve. Father stayed with us while she was away.

Wednesday, October 24, 1894

Cloudy. Frank and 3 men sorting and packing apples. Grandpa, Prescott, John and William running the mill.

Emma was not able to go to the school yesterday.

Wednesday, October 31, 1894  

Very rainy this P.M. Father went to the depot with a load of cider this morn. John went this P.M. Children did not come home last night and will not come tonight. Henry has been sick since last Saturday cannot move or stand up straight without hurting his back or bowels.
