Very pleasant. Grandma and Prescott did the washing this A.M. I picked over the high bush black-berries. This P.M. we put down the new sitting-room carpet. Mother had 11 qt cans full of berries.

Prescott, Mattie, Emma, Grandpa and Grandma went over to Mr. Whitney Hills yesterday after berries. Mrs. Quartus Warner called while they were gone. A letter from Aunt Louisa Hazel Alexander came to see the girls this P.M.

Charles Clark’s baby was buried last Saturday. Was sick only a week with cholera infantum. Age 9 months.

Florence has a little girl born the 16” of this month.

Raymond Dewey died last Friday morn. 4 yrs.

Judson Dewey died yesterday morn about 3 o’c. He was born the 16” of June. The first and only place he ever went was down here. His mother and May came down and spent the P.M. and stayed to tea.

Mr. Snyder conducted the funeral. The lesson he gave was “That the same hand that wounds us will bind up and heal our wounds.”

I feel so helpless and cast down tonight it seems as though it was too much to try to live through the events of this life as they come to us.

Frank has gone to meeting this eve.

We went to the funerals at the house this P.M. at ½ past 2. We went over to the cemetery with them and Mrs. Dewey rode home with us.

Jennie Baker played on the organ and Alice and Marion White sang – “Safe in the arms of Jesus.” & “Some how and somewhere.”

Prescott, Emma, Susie and I did not go to church.

Camp-meeting during the past week.
